What a color screen is for
A "color screen" is just a browser page filled with one solid color, but a flat field of color is a surprisingly useful tool. A white screen is a light source — for tracing, video-call fill light or checking a monitor for dust and dead pixels. A black screen saves power on OLED phones and shows up backlight bleed on an LCD. A red screen protects night vision for astronomy; a green screen is a compact chroma-key backdrop; a blue screen is classic bias lighting behind a TV. Any color makes a clean background for photos, streams and signage, or ambient lighting for a room.
How to use it
- Choose a color — use the color box, type a hex code, or tap one of the quick swatches. Every named color below also has its own page.
- Choose a resolution — tap a preset (480p to 4K), pick an aspect ratio, or type an exact width and height. Fit my screen matches your device.
- Preview — the panel shows the exact size and color.
- Open full screen — the whole display fills with the color. Press Esc or tap to exit.
- Download — save it as a PNG or JPG at the size you set.
- Share — post the exact color screen, with a matching preview image, to Pinterest, Facebook, X, Reddit or WhatsApp.

Is the color screen tool free?
Yes — every color screen is free with no sign-up, no watermark and no limit. The full-screen view and the downloadable images are generated entirely in your browser, so nothing you choose is uploaded anywhere.
How do I make my whole screen one solid color?
Open the tool (or any single-color page like the white screen or black screen), pick your color and resolution, then tap Open full screen. Your browser fills the entire display and hides its own bars. Press Esc or tap the screen to exit. It works on phones, tablets, laptops, desktops and most smart-TV browsers.
What resolutions and sizes can I download?
Presets cover 480p (854×480), 720p (1280×720), 1080p (1920×1080), 1440p (2560×1440) and 4K (3840×2160), in 16:9, 16:10, 21:9, 4:3, 3:2, 1:1 or 9:16. You can also type any custom width and height up to 16384 px, and set a real DPI value that is embedded in the PNG for print.
Which color screen is best for saving battery or checking a display?
A black screen saves the most power on OLED and AMOLED phones and reveals backlight bleed on an LCD. A white screen is best for finding dead pixels, dust and backlight problems. Pure red, green and blue screens each test one set of sub-pixels. A red screen protects night vision, and a dim blue screen is common as bias lighting behind a TV.
Can I use a green screen from this tool for video?
For a small area, yes — fill a spare monitor, tablet or TV with the green screen and key it out in OBS, Zoom or a video editor. For a full-body chroma key a matte green cloth still works better because it avoids on-screen reflections.
