Green screens are best known for chroma-key video: streamers and filmmakers fill a display with pure green to key themselves onto a different background. Green is also the channel the eye is most sensitive to, so a green field is a sensitive test for panel uniformity and stuck pixels, and a softer green makes a calm ambient light.
As a test pattern, a flat moss field makes a dead or stuck pixel jump out, and it exercises the green sub-pixel.
