About white colors
The white family covers the off-whites and near-whites that do the real work in design — white itself plus snow, ivory, floralwhite, seashell, ghostwhite, whitesmoke and gainsboro. Each has a faint hue cast — warm, cool or neutral — that sets the mood of a page far more than its near-identical hex code suggests.
Pure #FFFFFF can feel harsh for large surfaces on a screen; a warm off-white like #FAF9F6 or a cool one like #F8FAFC is easier on the eye and gives a design character. Choose the cast to match your accent colors, and keep body text well below these values for contrast.
