About red colors
Red is the longest wavelength the eye sees and the most attention-grabbing color on screen. Web reds run from soft salmon and lightcoral through the pure red keyword (#FF0000) to deep darkred and maroon. In interfaces red carries a heavy convention — errors, destructive actions, stop states — so a red used for branding needs to be distinct enough not to be mistaken for a warning.
When you pick a red for text, contrast is the catch: pure #FF0000 on white lands around 4:1, just short of WCAG AA for body copy, so most readable reds sit a shade or two darker. Pair reds with cool neutrals or a teal accent for balance, and check any red-on-color combination for red-green color blindness, where it can collapse toward the background.
